Photographie : Four Generations -- Lloyd Edward Gayman, Lloyd Vaughn Gayman, Charles E. Gayman, Jr., Charles Gayman, Sr. circa 1913, Highland, Ohio, United States
“Somewhere in the old picture collection is a photo we used to call “Four Generations” … in which I [Lloyd Vaughn Gayman] am standing in the front row in the standard white suit all children – boy type – wore. As I recall without seeing the picture, I am leaning against the knees of my great grandfather [Charles Gayman, Sr.]. I’ll start with him. [Actually, Lloyd Vaughn is leaning against his father, Lloyd Edward Gayman.] Since young lads did not call older relatives by their first names, I’ll surmise his name was Edward [Charles Gayman, Sr.]. He was a farmer but not from the West Union area – elsewhere in southern Ohio. He lived with someone among grandfather Gayman’s [Charles E. Gayman, Jr.] brothers or sisters.”
