Oct 1 1892 of paralysis Emily Josephine Butel wife of John P. Tackley aged 47 years 11 months and 28 days. Deceased was born in France and came to this country when eight years of age and lived with her parents near Mexico until she married the husband who now survives her. Deceased had been in declining health for a number of years but was able to be about the house and had been in as good health as usual until about six weeks ago when she was stricken with paralysis. But she soon got better and was able to walk to the village a half mile away but on Friday Sept. 30th she was stricken again from which she never rallied. Her death is a crushing blow to the large family who survives her. Her children were all present at her death with the exception of two daughters who were in New York and reached home only a few hours after their mother's departure. Her funeral was held Monday Oct. 3 1892 at the Catholic church where a number of sympathizing friends gathered to pay her a last tribute of respect. She leaves a husband seven daughters and four sons who mourn her early death. The family circle is broken here on Earth and the first link in the chain has been forged in heaven. May they so live that they will meet around God's throne the chain complete a united and happy family at last. ... The Mexico Independent Mexico N.Y.
