Mrs. Mary Beley died at her home near Colosse, Aug. 9th, 1903, aged 77 years. Aunt Mary as she was familiarly called, was born in France, Jan. 11th, 1826 and came to this country at the age of two years. In 1848, she was united in marriage to Frederic Beley, and of ten children born of that union eight now survive her. She was always pleasant and cheerful in disposition quick to rejoice with her friends in prosperity, and ever found in the house of mourning, with helpful hands, words of comfort and tear of true sympathy. No wanderer ever asked at her door for bread, or friend for a favor, that were denied, and many a sad life was brightened by her courageous, cheerful nature. Dearly was she loved, greatly will she be missed and deeply mourned, not only in her home, but by many friends in the community in which she lived. She bore her sickness with fortitude, knowing in whom she trusted, and when the closing scene of life drew near, fell asleep in death to waken where the husband of her youth awaits her, with other loved ones gone before. Of her it may be truly said. “She hath done what she could,' and now free from all care she sweetly rests, safe on her Saviour’s loving breast.
