GUILLAUME * ** *** Commentaires généraux *** ** * Document1 Rosella Celestine “Rosie” Poly was born in France d/o George Chrysostome “Chris” and Mary Rose Besanceney Poly and died in Darke County Ohio aged 66y 03m 16d. Although no records have been found and no inscription is on the stone it is presumed that Rosie is buried here with her husband Jacob Phillip “Jake” Shappy according to several of their grandchildren. Cemetery records do show that Jacob Shappy purchased the plot he is buried in as well as the one right next to him. Jacob Phillip “Jake” and Rosella Celestine “Rosie” Poly Shappy are the parents of six children: 01. Joseph Shappy - died 02 Oct 1870 (age 11) and is buried in Holy Family Cemetery* 02. Mary Shappy - married William Brown and they had two sons she is buried across the road in the Weaver-Teacup Cemetery 03. Augustine (female) - died 22 Oct 1870 (age 4)and is buried in Holy Family Cemetery* 04. Philip Shappy - died 20 Oct 1870 (age 1) and is buried in Holy Family Cemetery* 05. Rosa Josephine Shappy - married Ed Putterbaugh - she died 23 Dec 1929 and is buried in Forest Hill Cemetery in Piqua Miami County Ohio 06. Mary Scelanda Shappy - born 10 Jan 1873 died 11 Feb 1940 - she married John Allen 'Al' Gunckel (11 Sep 1867-11 Sep 1942) - they are the parents of 18 children - Al and Scelanda are buried in Brock Cemetery Darke County Ohio * There were three small stones together in Holy Family Cemetery for the children Joseph Augustine and Philip who all died in October 1879 those stones are gone now.
