'Jenny' Gladieux 1864–1906 xxxxx://www.ancestry.fr/family-tree/person/tree/11870644/person/12575117761/facts Obituary Publié le 04 mai 2012 par Dana Kelly GLADIEUX PASSED AWAY : August Gladieux one of the oldest and best respected of Livingston county pioneers died at his home at the comer of Ninth and Oak streets at 12:30 o'clock turday afternoon surrounded by his resident family relatives. Death was not unexpected. Mr. Gladieux would have been 82 years old in October and it was old age aggravated by a cold which he contracted ten days ago which took away the octogenarian. He was conscious up to the time of death and realized that the end was approaching. August Gladieux was born in Bedford France and came to this country with his parents when nine years old locating in Ohio from which state he emigrated to Livingston county in 1869 and settled on a farm three miles from Chillicothe in Rich Hill township. Twenty-two years ago he retired and moved to this city and since resided here. He was married 60 years ago at Louisville Ohio to Mary Menegay who survives him at 81 years. The surviving children are Joseph Gladieux Mesdames Peter Burgy John Klein of this city and Henry Gier of Ocean Park Calif. The deceased children are Mrs. Dupre Eugene and August. The funeral will be held at St. Columban's church of which he was a member at a time to be set later when it is expected Mrs. Gier will be present. Mr. Gladieux made a will a short time before his death. His property consists largely of real estate.
