He came with his parents Francois Girardin and Marie Jean Frier Girardin to the United States arriving at New Orleans Louisiana on 3 Jun 1834 aboard the ship 'Bolivar'. The family originally settled in French Village close to E. St. Louis Illinois. Clement was a carpenter and can be found in the 1850 census in Galveston Texas. On 21 Dec 1853 Clement was married to Justine Marie Hector in the St. Mary's Cathedral in Galveston. They had nine children. Between 1856 and 1860 Clement and Justine lived in New Orleans and subsequently moved back to Galveston. Clement served in the Confederate army in the U.S. Civil War. He died in 1876 in Galveston Texas. Clément est né à Brebotte Haut-Rhin France. Il est venu avec ses parents François Girardin et Marie Jean Frier Girardin aux États-Unis arrivant à la Nouvelle-Orléans en Louisiane le 3 juin 1834 à bord du navire 'Bolivar'. La famille s'est installée à French Village près de E. St. Louis Illinois. Clément était charpentier et peut être trouvé dans le recensement de 1850 à Galveston au Texas. Le 21 décembre 1853 Clément était marié à Justine Marie Hector dans la cathédrale St. Mary à Galveston. Ils ont eu neuf enfants. Entre 1856 et 1860 Clément et Justine ont vécu à la Nouvelle-Orléans et sont ensuite retournés à Galveston. Clément a servi dans l'armée confédérée dans la guerre civile américaine.
