MRS. POIRSON IS CALLED BY DEATH
Pioneer of County Passes Away at Age of 82 Years
Mrs. Victoria Poirson aged 82 years a pioneer resident of the county died Wednesday morning at the home of her sons Felix and August Poirson on the Lima road in Washington township.
Mrs. Poirson was the widow of John D. Poirson and she had been a resident of Allen county since 1846. She was born in France May 19 1832 and came to this country with her parents as a small girl. Her death was due to an attack of paralysis suffered some weeks ago. She was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic church at Acadamie and was widely known and universally respected. Surviving she leaves four children--Felix and August Poirson at home Mrs. Celestia White of Washington township and Frank Poirson of Gar Creek. She also leaves six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. One brother August Huguenard of this city also survives.
Funeral services Saturday moring at 9 o'clock from the residence and at 10 o'clock from St. Vincent's church.
Children reported with John & Victorine POIRSON in the 1870 census of Washington Township Allen County Indiana are: Felix (born 1852) August (born 1854) Celia (born ca. 1860) and Francis (aka Frank) (born ca. 1865).
