At the age of 16 he sailed with his father and mother on the ship St. Nicholas to the United States. He married Margaret Lamboley who was born in 1829. They had one child, a boy : Jacobus. Jean-Pierre had his citizenship declared on October 9, 1854. Jean-Pierre was a soldier in the Civil War, 49th Infantry, Indiana 11th Battery. He died January 24, 1885 in Washington Township, Allen County IN and is buried in the St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery, Besancon IN. Jean-Pierre Adolphe Lomont est né le 13 Octobre 1833 à Branne, Dept Doubs, France. À l'âge de 16 ans, il émigre avec ses parents sur le navire Saint-Nicolas aux États-Unis. Il épouse Margaret Lamboley (alias Peggy) qui est né en 1829. Jean-Pierre était soldat lors de la guerre civile, au 49e d'infanterie, Indiana 11e Batterie. Il est mort 24 Janvier 1885 à Washington Township, dans le comté de Allen et est enterré dans l'église catholique St. Louis Cemetery, Besançon EN.
