YOQUELET et Besancon Historical Society shanceltic * ** *** Commentaires généraux *** ** * Document1 Document2 Jacques Sordelet a pioneer resident of Jefferson township this county died Tuesday morning at the age of 80 years three-fourths of which years he had spent in Allen County. Mr. Sordelet was born in France May 10 1830 (7 avril 1830) and came to America in 1847 settled near Buffalo New York on a farm where he remained a few years. Then he removed to this county where he has been a continuous resident. He was married to Augustine Haguenard in 1849. She died in the year 1855. From this marriage this is one daughter Mrs. Mary Rorick of Jefferson township. In 1856 he married to Armonce Dupont of Perry township. From this union were born the following children: Frank of Columbus Ohio Mrs. Clara Cutter of this city Mrs. Louise Haines of Aboite township Charles of Pueblo Colorado Mrs. Ida Pio of Hobart Indiana Edward of Eel River township John of Jefferson township Mrs. Ailene Bickel of Huntington Indiana. One son Jacob died at the age of nineteen. Mr. Sordelet was a devout catholic and a very estimable citizen whose friends were numbered by his acquaintance. Funeral services will be held on Friday at Besancon at 9:30. This is the second death in the family during the year as Mrs. Sordelet preceded him on June 9.
