Juvénal Alphonse Lomont (aka Alphonse) was born on April 4, 1846 in Branne, Dept Doubs, France. At the age of 4 years old, he emigrated to the United States, sailing with his father and mother on the ship St. Nicholas from Le Havre, France to New York City, New York. He married Victoria Gladieux on 10 April 1866 in Allen County IN. Victoria was born on October 24, 1848 in Stark County OH and came to Allen County in girlhood. Juvénal Alphonse and Victoria had ten children, seven boys and three girls, Louis, Charles, Ellen, Ida, Justin, Rosalie, John, Clement, Ernest and Clarence. Alphonse was a prominent farmer in Jefferson Township, Allen County IN. Alphonse was counted in a census in 1860/1870/1880 in Jefferson Twp., Allen Co., IN. Victoria was counted in a census in 1860/1880 in Jefferson Twp., Allen Co. IN. Alphonse's citizenship was declared on November 1, 1884 in Allen County. Victoria died on May 21, 1901 in St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne, Allen County IN and is buried in St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery, Besancon IN Juvénal Alphonse subsequently married Mary Mayer (also found as Mary Pio Pailloz) sixteen years following the death of Victoria.on November 14, 1917 in Allen County IN. Mary Mayer was born on August 12, 1862 in France. The couple had no children. Mary died on January 6, 1953 in Allen County IN and is buried in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne IN.
